The Beginning of My First Life in Budapest
나의 첫 부다페스트 시작
For now, I’m living in District 9 in Budapest, in a rental house provided by my company.
현재 나는 회사에서 제공해준 부다페스트 9구의 렌탈 하우스에서 살고 있다.
The apartment building is brand new and has 10 floors.
이 아파트는 신축 건물이고 10층짜리 건물이다.
When I first came to Budapest, one thing shocked me everywhere — restaurants, companies, apartments… the ‘ground floor’
처음 부다페스트에 왔을 때 가장 충격적이었던 건 식당, 회사, 아파트 어디를 가든 ‘ 0층’ 이 있다는 점이었다
In Korea, we usually start counting floors from the 1st floor, so this system was really confusing for me.
한국에서는 보통 1층부터 시작하기 때문에 이 시스템이 정말 헷갈렸다.
So technically I live on the 8th floor, but for me… it still feels like the 9th floor.
그래서 공식적으로는 8층에 살지만, 내 느낌상으로는 아직도 9층에 사는 것 같다
After moving all my luggage, I went to a restaurant with my colleagues from the HR and IT teams.
짐을 다 옮긴 후 HR팀과 IT팀 동료들과 함께 식당에 갔다.
They told me about Hungarian company culture, employee benefits, and also introduced themselves to me.
그들은 헝가리 회사 문화, 복지, 그리고 자기소개도 해주었다.
Everything was super interesting for me, but honestly, I was also nervous.
모든 것이 정말 흥미로웠지만 솔직히 긴장도 됐다.
Can I work well in Hungary with Hungarian colleagues?
내가 헝가리 사람들과 잘 일할 수 있을까?
But at the same time, I’m really excited about this new chapter of my life in Budapest.
하지만 동시에 부다페스트에서 시작될 새로운 인생이 정말 기대된다 후.
